This scope includes current and former members of Parliament, ministers, state secretaries, and government commissioners. New details of the draft law indicate that audits will extend to spouses, partners, and family members living in the same household, as well as entities that received assets transferred from officials. The NAV will be authorized to request data from foreign authorities and other state agencies. If an audit reveals a tax deficit of at least five million forints, the individual’s name and the deficit amount will be published on a public NAV list. The government estimates the program will cost 3 billion forints over four years and require 50 new tax inspectors. As of late September 2026, the government has launched a social consultation process for this proposal.
