Hungarian media programming schedules

Hungarian media outlets and streaming services have announced upcoming programming schedules for the late summer and autumn 2026 seasons.

On commercial television, RTL has confirmed the return of the political and social talk show ‘Heti Hetes’ in the autumn, following successful viewership metrics during its spring season. The program will continue with host Nagy Ádám and a cast including Majka and András Hajós, with filming scheduled to begin on September 3. RTL is also preparing other shows such as ‘Most Wanted’ and ‘X-Faktor’.

TV2 has announced a lineup featuring ‘Farm VIP’ and ‘Ázsia Expressz’, alongside a new adventure-reality format titled ‘Destination X’. Additionally, various streaming platforms including Netflix, Disney+, HBO MAX, and Amazon Prime are scheduled to release new series and episodes between August 17 and August 23, 2026.

Competition between the major networks is intensifying as they vie for viewership dominance. Recent data for week 33 indicates that TV2 is leading the 18-59 demographic during prime time with a 14.9 percent share, compared to RTL’s 13.1 percent. Regarding total portfolio share for the 18-59 age group, the TV2 Group holds 35.4 percent, while RTL Hungary holds 22.5 percent.

The rivalry is expected to escalate in September as both broadcasters launch major talent competitions, with RTL premiering a new season of ‘X-Faktor’ and TV2 launching ‘Megasztár’. RTL is also preparing upcoming seasons of ‘Most Wanted’ and a renewed ‘Celeb vagyok, ments ki innen!’.
