Hungarian television seasonal programming updates
Overview
Hungarian television networks have announced their programming lineups for the upcoming autumn season.
Antenna Entertainment reported that the VIASAT channel group will introduce new productions, such as the docu-reality series ‘Kutyával vagyok’ and the comedy series ‘Vascanga’. The culinary mystery show ‘Troll a konyhában’ is set to return for its fourth season, featuring celebrity guests and Michelin-starred chef Ákos Sárközi. As part of a restructuring effort, VIASAT FILM will transition into AXN Crime to focus on true crime content.
On the public broadcasting side, Duna Médiaszolgáltató Nonprofit Zrt. is implementing a programming shift intended to restore social trust and diversify cultural content. The broadcaster stated its goal is to provide a selection of artists based on “cultural value and performance rather than political affiliations.” This renewal has seen the return of musical and cultural figures previously absent from Duna, Petőfi TV, and Petőfi Rádió, including Bródy János, Majka, Beton. Hofi, and Parnó Graszt.
Regarding game shows, ‘Magyarország, szeretlek!’ is confirmed to premiere on Duna Televízió on August 30 at 19:45. Despite previous uncertainties regarding MTVA, hosts Ernő Zsolt Kiss, Péter Vida, and Adriis Nagy have confirmed their return, with Kiss hosting and Nagy and Vida serving as team captains. A spin-off series, ‘Magyarország, szeretlek! – Játszunk még!’, is also scheduled to begin airing on weekdays starting September 7.
