Hungary drug enforcement operations

In late July 2026 Hungarian police carried out a series of drug‑related arrests across the country. On July 29, a K‑9 unit stopped a 30‑year‑old Romanian man in Budapest’s Népliget, finding drug‑related paraphernalia and leading to his detention as part of a wider sweep that produced dozens of arrests.

On the same day, officers in Tiszavasvár stopped a private car and uncovered 58.6 g of a controlled substance, arresting a 20‑year‑old suspect and the driver. Investigation traced the supply to a 33‑year‑old individual from Hajdúböszörmény, who was arrested on July 31 and found with an additional 14.9 g. All three suspects were placed in custody, with two ordered detained and one placed under supervision.

These actions illustrate a coordinated effort by Hungarian law‑enforcement agencies to disrupt drug trafficking networks, linking separate incidents in Budapest and eastern Hungary through shared investigative work.
