Prior to the event, Gyeongju City invested 2 billion won in facility upgrades, including artificial turf replacement and natural grass repairs. Safety measures, such as cooling breaks and cooling fog systems, were implemented to protect athletes from extreme heat.

The event is expected to bolster the local economy through sports tourism. Gyeongju Mayor Joo Nak-young stated that the city aims to strengthen its brand as a sports tourism hub by leveraging its athletic infrastructure and hosting major national events.
