Iberdrola offshore wind developments in the UK

Overview

Iberdrola is advancing several large-scale offshore wind developments in the United Kingdom through its subsidiary, ScottishPower.

In the North Sea, the company is seeking a partner for the East Anglia Two project. Iberdrola plans to sell up to a 49% stake in the development, which is valued at approximately 5 billion euros. Once operational in 2028, the 960 MW wind farm is expected to power roughly 950,000 homes.

Simultaneously, Iberdrola has launched two major projects in Scotland representing an estimated 20 billion euro investment. These include MachairWind, a 2,000 MW project off the west coast expected to be operational around 2033, and MarramWind, a massive floating wind project in the North Sea with a capacity of up to 3,000 MW planned for development between 2037 and 2043.
