The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) is advancing recruitment for various temporary roles to support upcoming census activities. Following objective exams held on August 30, 2026, for 1,414 Quality Census Agent and Census Analyst positions, the institute released preliminary answer keys. Candidates were permitted to contest these results via the Instituto Avalia website between September 1 and September 2, with preliminary exam results expected on September 16. These selected professionals will support the Agricultural, Forestry, and Aquaculture Censuses, as well as the Census of the Homeless Population. Regarding the larger recruitment drive for approximately 27,279 to 27,330 temporary census takers for the 12th Agricultural, Forestry, and Aquaculture Census, Fundação Cesgranrio was qualified to organize the selection process, pending the resolution of issues with the Cadin. This upcoming selection introduces a high school diploma requirement and a compensation structure featuring a fixed salary supplemented by productivity-based variables. IBGE has received authorization to hire up to 27,330 enumerators for this census, as well as 325 professionals for telephone-based statistical research, including agents and supervisors. Preparations for the 2027 census include collaborations such as the partnership with Cuiabá City Hall in Mato Grosso to map rural production. The Mato Grosso schedule includes an edict release in October, an experimental census in Barra do Bugres in November, and the start of in-person data collection in June 2027. In Taquara, local authorities have arranged training facilities at the Centro Educacional Índio Brasileiro Cezar to support regional vacancies. IBGE has now entered the final preparation phase for the 12th Agricultural, Forestry, and Aquaculture Census. A central element of this phase is the launch of the National Preliminary Registry of Agricultural Establishments, a digital tool intended to allow cooperatives, associations, and rural producers to update cadastral data.
