ICC Women's Under-19 T20 World Cup preparations

Preparations for the third edition of the ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup are underway, with the tournament scheduled to take place from January 21 to February 6, 2027, in Bangladesh and Nepal.

England Women have announced a 15-player Under-19 squad for an extensive winter programme. The squad will compete in a five-match T20 series against India from November 26 to December 6, 2026, in Baroda and Surat. Following the series, the team will undergo an additional week of outdoor training. Head coach Chris Guest stated the objective is to ensure the “best prepared squad we will have sent to the U19 Women’s World Cup,” focusing on tournament success and professional development. Phoebe Brett of Warwickshire is the only player returning from the 2025 squad, and a captain has yet to be named.

The ICC has released the official tournament schedule, noting that 16 teams will compete in 41 matches across venues in Chattogram, Sylhet, and Kathmandu. Defending champions India are placed in Group A with West Indies, Ireland, and co-host Nepal, with their title defense scheduled to begin against the West Indies on January 22 in Kathmandu. The tournament will open on January 21 with a match between Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates. The competition will progress from group stages to a Super Six stage, with semifinals and the final set to be held in Chattogram.
