While the agency initially aimed for completion by the end of August 2025, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin announced the timeline has shifted to late September. The Department of Homeland Security is currently training officers and exploring technology integration with Motorola.

The rollout is accompanied by a new disclosure policy. Under this directive, ICE will only release footage of shootings or serious injuries if it is deemed to be in the “best interests of the agency.” A committee of senior officials and lawyers will review footage to recommend releases. While Acting Director David J. Venturella stated the policy protects investigations and privacy, critics argue it may allow for “selective releases” to manage the agency’s reputation.
