IHG Hotels & Resorts 2026 half-year financial performance
Overview
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) reported financial results for the first half of 2026, showing growth in operating profits and revenue per available room (RevPAR) despite regional challenges.
Operating profit from reportable segments rose 10 percent to $665 million, while revenue from these segments grew between 6 and 7 percent. Global RevPAR increased by 4.1 percent. The company noted that strong demand in the Americas, particularly related to World Cup football match locations, and growth in Greater China helped offset a significant decline in the Middle East, where RevPAR slumped by 19 percent in the second quarter.
During this period, IHG expanded its global estate by opening 31,500 rooms across 197 hotels and signing approximately 49,200 new rooms. The company remains committed to returning more than $1.2 billion to shareholders in 2026 through an interim dividend increase of 10 percent and a $950 million share buyback programme.
