Illinois teen clown stabbing case – murder charge

In early August 2026, a 15‑year‑old male in a red‑black clown costume was identified as the primary suspect in the fatal stabbing of John Wesley Allen Sr., a resident of East St. Louis, Illinois, reported as being in his late 70s. Surveillance and Ring doorbell footage captured the teen approaching a home, whispering “I’m looking for you,” before the victim was found with multiple stab wounds at the intersection of North 76th Street and State Street.

Illinois State Police and East St. Louis police located the suspect at a nearby residence and placed him in custody the following day.
