Immigration and trespassing incidents in Tawau

Overview

Police in Tawau, Sabah, have conducted separate operations involving foreign nationals lacking valid identification.

In early September, a foreign national was arrested for trespassing in an orchard at Batu 15, Jalan Apas Balung. The incident is being investigated under the Penal Code, the Weapons Act 1960, and the Immigration Act 1959/63.

In October, authorities detained three foreign men, aged 25 to 52, following a failed attempt to enter Malaysia through an undocumented route.
