IMSA WeatherTech round at Road America

The 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s Road America event unfolded over several days. On July 30, the six‑hour endurance race served as the fourth round of the Michelin Endurance Cup, with drivers and teams vying for crucial points across the GTP, LMP2, GTD Pro and GTD classes. Laurin Heinrich led the GTP standings, while Cadillac, Porsche and other manufacturers remained in close contention.

A few days later, qualifying at the same Wisconsin circuit produced notable pole positions. Harry King captured his first Motul pole in GTD PRO, and Lilou Wadoux became the first female driver to start from pole in the GTD class. Additionally, Canadian driver Robert Wickens was called in at the last minute to replace Salih Yoluc in the DXDT Racing Chevrolet Corvette for the GTD race, marking his debut in the series.

Together, the race and subsequent qualifying sessions highlighted the competitive intensity of the Road America round and introduced historic milestones and driver lineup changes within the championship.
