India international diplomatic and strategic engagement
Overview
India has engaged in multiple diplomatic and strategic efforts to strengthen international relations. In Canada, discussions between Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand and Indian leadership focused on a strategic partnership and the early conclusion of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) to boost trade in sectors like clean energy and defense technologies.
Simultaneously, India has expanded its ties with Australia through infrastructure and military cooperation. This includes the commencement of a groundbreaking ceremony for a new Indian High Commission building in Canberra and regional engagement in Tasmania. On the security front, the fifth AUSTRAHIND joint military exercise began in Thiruvananthapuram to improve interoperability between the Indian and Australian armies.
