During the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi elevated bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Following the summit, Prime Minister Ibrahim traveled to Kerala, where he met with Grand Mufti of India Kanthapuram AP Aboobacker Musliyar at Markaz in Kozhikode. Ibrahim attended a remembrance and prayer meeting at the Sunni Cultural Centre, attended by approximately 2,000 students and scholars. During this visit, Ibrahim he was presented with the Sheikh Abu Bakar Foundation’s ‘Excellence Award’ for his contributions to public service, education, and international dialogue. Discussions in Kerala focused on educational exchanges, cultural cooperation, the welfare of the Indian diaspora in Malaysia, and the ethical implications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) regarding faith faith, ethics, and intellectual freedom. Following his time in India, Ibrahim was scheduled to visit the Maldives to strengthen cooperation in trade and digital sectors.
