In late July 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with MPs from Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland and pledged full central assistance to address severe flooding caused by heavy rains and landslides in the two states. The government committed to timely relief, restoration, and support for the severe flooding that had affected more than 300,000 affected people, with people in the region.
