India and Singapore are continuing to advance their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership through high-level diplomatic and economic engagements. In early August 2026, the 19th round of India-Singapore Foreign Office Consultations took place in New Delhi. Delegations reviewed the implementation of eight priority areas established in a roadmap following leadership visits in 2024 and 2025. Discussions focused on regional and global developments, ASEAN coordination, and cooperation in sectors including manufacturing, technology, food security, energy, and defense. Following these consultations, the fourth India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR) was held in Singapore. The Indian delegation, led by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and including External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and Minister of State Jitin Prasada, met with a Singaporean delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong. During the ISMR, the two nations signed two memorandums of understanding and one letter of intent to enhance cooperation in telecommunications, broadcasting regulations, food safety, and maritime heritage. In the telecommunications sector, Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India agreed to deepen cooperation regarding spectrum management and consumer interest safeguards. The roundtable also served to review progress across six strategic pillars: advanced manufacturing, connectivity, digitalization, healthcare and medicine, skills development, and sustainability. To mark a new phase in the partnership, ministers from both countries also laid the foundation stone for a new Indian High Commission chancery complex in Singapore. Building on the ISMR outcomes, the two nations have agreed to expand bilateral cooperation in semiconductors, fintech, the green economy, and clean energy. Parallel to these diplomatic efforts, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, Temasek, has maintained strong investment activity in the Indian market.
