India is advancing its space exploration capabilities through several major programmes managed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). A central component is the development of the Bharatiya Antariksh Station (BAS), a planned five-module orbital laboratory. The design phase for the first module, BAS-01, has commenced with the approval of 31 baseline design documents, with a launch targeted for 2028 and full station completion aimed for 2035.
