Significant departmental allocations include 3,687 posts under the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), featuring 2,336 Central Excise Inspector roles, 1,400 Tax Assistant roles, and 595 Income Tax Inspector roles. Other positions include Assistant Section Officer in the Central Secretariat Service and various roles under the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG).

As the examination period approaches, the SSC has begun releasing Tier 1 admit cards in phases. These are being issued based on specific examination dates, with certificates typically becoming available two to three days before a candidate's scheduled test. The commission clarified that the absence of an admit card on the portal does not necessarily indicate an application issue, but is part of the phased rollout. Candidates must use their registration credentials on the official website to download hall tickets, which contain center addresses and reporting times. The admit card is distinct from the previously released city intimation slip, which cannot be used for entry into the examination center.
