Indian telecom operators are intensifying competition through bundled digital services and long-term plans, while facing scrutiny over rising costs. Reliance Jio has expanded its ecosystem with new JioHome broadband bundles and high-data prepaid options. A prominent ₹1,799 plan provides 84 days of validity, 252GB of high-speed data, unlimited voice calling, and subscriptions to Netflix Basic, JioTV, and JioHotstar Mobile + Hollywood, alongside an 18-month subscription to Google Gemini Pro with 5,000GB of cloud storage. Other offerings include a ₹449 plan with 84GB of data and a ₹1,199 plan featuring JioAICloud with 50GB of free storage. To mark 10 years of operations, Jio has introduced a Mega Anniversary Offer for its ₹3,599 annual recharge plan. This promotional package includes 120GB of bonus high-speed data, provided as 10GB monthly vouchers for one year, in addition to 2.5GB of daily data, unlimited 5G access, and subscriptions to Google Gemini Pro, JioHotstar Mobile, and JioTV Pro. Akash Ambani, chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, noted the company’s evolution from a telecom disruptor into a broad technology provider. Jio has also reintroduced its ‘Jio Prime’ membership, offering a tariff price guarantee until September 5, 2027, for a ₹300 fee. Furthering its anniversary celebrations, Jio has extended benefits to JioHome broadband customers. Subscribers on 3-in-1 plans with speeds of 30 Mbps and 100 Mbps are now eligible for a free 12-month Amazon Prime Lite membership, which includes Prime Video access and eligible Amazon delivery benefits. This rollout began on September 19 and is being implemented in phases via the MyJio app. Bharti Airtel has restructured its prepaid offerings by discontinuing several popular plans, including the ₹299 monthly plan and various entry-level and mid-range packs. ~~The company also increased the price of its ₹859 plan to ₹899, drawing formal protests from the Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI).~~
