Indian railway security and enforcement operations

Indian railway authorities have focused on enhancing security through technological integration and large-scale enforcement. Following the 8th All India Conference of Government Railway Police (GRP) Chiefs, officials emphasized intelligence-led policing and improved coordination between the Railway Protection Force (RPF), GRP, and state police. Key strategies include integrating personnel into the RailMadad platform for better grievance redressal and utilizing drone-assisted surveillance to combat crimes such as stone-pelting and passenger theft.

In subsequent enforcement actions, the RPF reported significant seizures and arrests across various divisions. In Guwahati, personnel apprehended individuals for mobile phone theft. In the Chennai Division, operations resulted in the seizure of narcotics, including hydroponic cannabis, as well as illegal tobacco, liquor, and contraband valued at millions of rupees. Additionally, the RPF conducted operations involving hawala money and gold, prosecuted individuals for unauthorized travel in reserved compartments, and rescued 242 missing or runaway children.
