These trains utilize fuel cell technology, reacting hydrogen with oxygen to generate electricity and emitting only water vapor and heat. This method provides a zero-emission alternative that avoids the need for overhead electrification on certain routes.

Following the initial launch, officials are working to increase the operational speed of the hydrogen trains from 75 kmph to 110 kmph, noting that successful trials have already reached 120 kmph. Efforts are also underway to identify suitable rail sections for future operations and to establish technical requirements for a reliable hydrogen fuel supply.
