Indonesia border management modernization
Overview
In late July 2026 Indonesia’s Border Agency (BNPP RI) began a pilot of the All Indonesia digital platform at the Entikong land crossing with Malaysia. The web‑based and mobile system integrates immigration, customs and health‑quarantine functions, extending a platform previously used only at airports and seaports.
A few days later, BNPP released the 2026 Index of Border Area Management, which gave an average score of 0.58 (grade “C”) for 22 sea‑ and land‑border growth centers. The agency urged ministries to adopt the index’s recommendations for integrated priority programs, citing the Red‑White Fishermen Village project as a model and seeking to highlight the results in President Prabowo Subianto’s state address. Together, the pilot and the index illustrate Indonesia’s push to streamline border services and accelerate infrastructure and community development across its frontier regions.
