Indonesia HPV vaccination program expansion

Overview

In October 2026, targeted HPV vaccination initiatives were launched across various sectors in Indonesia. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, through the Dharma Wanita Persatuan, initiated a program for female employees and members in Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Cepu, which included clinical breast examinations for early cancer detection.

Concurrently, the Indonesian Ministry of Health reported high immunization coverage among 5th-grade students, with Bali and Yogyakarta exceeding 90 percent. To promote gender equality in cancer prevention, the Ministry announced plans to expand the scope of the vaccination program to include 5th-grade boys in West Java, Central Java, and Banten the following year. Additionally, the Korpri Secretariat General of the DPR RI continued its own vaccination program for employees at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta.
