Following the national holiday observances for Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW in late August 2026, religious commemorations continued throughout mid-September. In Sidoarjo, Vice Regent Mimik Idayana attended the 27th anniversary of the Tanwirul Afkar Islamic Boarding School, stating that while knowledge is essential, ‘moral character is even more important for human resource development.’ In Tangerang, hundreds of residents gathered at Musala Al Imdad in Sukamanah Village for an open-air celebration aimed at fostering social harmony and the spirit of ‘gotong royong’ (mutual assistance). As celebrations progressed, leaders focused on the intersection of faith and modern challenges. Arifatul Choiri Fauzi, Chairperson of PP Muslimat NU and Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection, urged the strengthening of religious education and ethics to protect children from the ‘negative influences of rapid technological advancement.’ By late September, diverse community activities continued across the archipelago. In Bandarlampung, Masjid Al Yaqin Tanjungraya held a celebration featuring a ‘kembang telor’ parade to symbolize gratitude and joy. In Jakarta, during an observance at Masjid Istiqlal, preacher Das’ad Latif urged Muslimat NU members to revive family traditions and character education to foster a better nation. In Hamparan Perak, the BKM Masjid Al-Rohimin organized a commemoration focused on following the Sunnah, emphasizing that the essence of the event lies in behavioral change and increased devotion. In Central Sulawesi, the PW IKA PMII regional board continued to demonstrate interfaith solidarity. Non-Muslim families presented ‘Maulid eggs’ to the group, a gesture described as a symbol of religious tolerance and social ~~harmony, illustrating that diverse beliefs can coexist with mutual respect and cooperation.~~ harmony. Educational institutions, such as SD Negeri Banjarsari 5 in Serang, also integrated the occasion into school programs focused on student character. On September 26, 2026, commemorations expanded to include Haul ceremonies.
