Overview
The Indonesian government has announced plans to transition the payment of Pegawai Pemerintah dengan Perjanjian Kerja (PPPK) salaries to the national budget (APBN) beginning in 2027. Commission X of the DPR RI is working on a scheme to allow private school teachers who pass the PPPK selection process to remain at their current institutions while receiving state-guaranteed welfare. Additionally, there are efforts to transition approximately 230,000 part-time PPPK teachers to full-time status.
Parallel to these administrative shifts, the Directorate General of Teachers and Education Personnel has released an updated schedule for the 2026 Teacher Professional Education (PPG) program.
