Indonesian academic and industrial partnerships
Overview
Higher education institutions in Indonesia are increasingly forming strategic partnerships to bridge the gap between academic research and industrial requirements.
In September 2026, bank bjb and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in education, research, and community service. This agreement focuses on the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi framework and includes the integration of banking services to support university resource management.
By October 2026, BINUS University expanded its collaborative efforts by launching the Multihelix Hub at its BSD campus. Managed by the Research and Technology Transfer division, the hub aims to create an “open innovation ecosystem” by connecting academics with industry, government, and SMEs. Additionally, BINUS University entered a partnership with Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (UNIMUS) to improve educational quality and curriculum development within the creative industry.
