Indonesian digital infrastructure development
Overview
PT Telkom Infrastruktur Indonesia (InfraNexia) and PT Aplikanusa Lintasarta (Lintasarta) have initiated collaborations to improve digital connectivity in Indonesia. At the BATIC 2026 conference, the two companies signed an agreement to use Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology to strengthen high-capacity data routes between Medan, Batam, and Padang.
Following these infrastructure developments, Lintasarta introduced its Bandwidth on Demand (BWoD) solution to support the Indonesian banking sector. This technology is designed to provide adaptive digital infrastructure, allowing financial institutions to adjust bandwidth capacity up to 1 Gbps to manage fluctuating connectivity demands during peak periods without requiring new hardware installations.
During the Lintasarta Executive Dialogue in Jakarta, organized with Infobank, industry leaders from national and multinational banks—including members of Himbara, Perbanas, and Asbanda—met with officials from Bank Indonesia and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) to discuss technological requirements. The dialogue highlighted challenges regarding data traffic volatility during month-end and year-end closings, payroll processing, and disaster recovery scenarios. Lintasarta CEO Armand Hermawan emphasized that digital infrastructure must be “agile, scalable, and resilient to respond to business dynamics without disrupting customer services.”
