The İnegöl Municipality is organizing the inaugural İnegöl Gastronomy Festival, scheduled to take place from September 4 to 6. The event is designed to showcase the region’s culinary culture, local products, and geographically indicated goods to promote gastronomy tourism. Following an official launch attended by local leaders, including District Governor Ayhan Akpay and Mayor Alper Taban, details of the three-day program have been released. The festival will feature features a central area called ‘Gastro Sahne’ Sahne’, moderated by Dr. Esat Özata, for panels and interviews regarding the history of local cuisine, traditional bread, and the health aspects of kitchen practices. As the festival progressed into its second day, attendance remained significant. Visitors were able to sample over 200 regional dishes across approximately 100 stands hosted by local producers and tradespeople. The programming included academic panels featuring experts such as Prof. Dr. Murat Doğdubay, Prof. Dr. Rahman Temizkan, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yüksel Okşak. In addition to academic sessions with chefs and lecturers, sessions, the event will include includes musical performances performances, such as a concert by Retrobüs and various a performance by artist Aslı Hünel, who also participated in a mini cooking demonstration. Entertainment for children includes a puppet show by ventriloquist Abdullah Beyaztaş. Various markets, such as a ‘Green Gastronomy Market’ and a ‘Local Flavors Bazaar’. Bazaar’, are also part of the festivities.
