In El Salvador, the Ministry of Public Works announced a total closure of the Los Chorros section of the Pan-American Highway scheduled for August 29 through August 30. The closure is required for controlled rock blasting on highway slopes to support the construction of a new viaduct and roadway expansion. Minister of Public Works Romeo Rodríguez stated that crews will work 24/7 to clear debris and restore traffic as part of a broader effort to modernize strategic transportation corridors.
