Infrastructure and roadwork in Slavkov u Brna
Overview
Slavkov u Brna has initiated several infrastructure projects aimed at urban modernization and road maintenance.
In late September, the town began the reconstruction of Koláčkovo náměstí to modernize the public space for cultural and social use. The project, expected to last approximately two years, involves upgrading sidewalks and parking spaces. The work necessitates significant traffic restrictions and changes to the traffic regime in several surrounding streets.
In October, additional roadwork was announced for Čs. armády street to address wear from heavy vehicles. Managed by the South Moravian Region Road Administration and Maintenance, this project involves replacing road surfaces, repairing curbs, and renewing markings at a cost of nearly 4 million CZK. During the repairs, which are expected to conclude by December 12, drivers will use only half of the roadway, with traffic directed one-way from the town center. While pedestrian access will be maintained via barrier-free detours, regional bus services will face significant changes.
According to Kordis, the reconstruction of a 400-meter section of Čs. armády street will result in various diversions for several lines between October 12 and December 12, 2026. Lines 106 and 601 will operate on diversions without affecting stop service, while lines 620, 631, 630, and 632 will follow diverted routes. Some connections may alter the order of stops or skip the Slavkov u Brna, poliklinika stop. To maintain school connections to Bučovice, a new connection (number 5) has been introduced to facilitate transfers from the S6 train line. Specific stops, including Slavkov u Brna, MEZ and Slavkov u Brna, Cutisín, will not be served by certain connections during this period.
