Infrastructure and service improvements in Sistan and Baluch

The Iranian government has initiated several measures to improve infrastructure and services in the Sistan and Baluchestan province.

In late August 2026, authorities increased the monthly vehicle fuel quota to 160 liters to facilitate resident movement. This tiered pricing structure was established following national-level negotiations involving the First Vice President and the Plan and Budget Organization. To support travelers and emergency services, designated stations will provide emergency refueling cards.

Concurrently, the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education announced a $25 million allocation to improve healthcare access. Plans include expanding services to remote border regions, adding 50 ambulances to the national emergency fleet, and completing the construction of health houses across the province within two to three years. To stabilize medical services, officials are implementing a family physician program and seeking to improve livelihood support for physicians working in these disadvantaged areas.
