Infrastructure maintenance in Corridonia
Overview
Infrastructure maintenance projects have commenced in Corridonia to address deteriorating road conditions.
In late August, a 200,000 euro restoration project began on Via Niccolai, a strategic section of the SP33 provincial road. The work, intended to repair pavement damaged by weather and heavy traffic, was scheduled to last approximately ten days with alternating one-way traffic systems in place.
Following this, roadworks were scheduled to begin on September 14 at the Corridonia junction on the SS77 Val di Chienti superstrada. Managed by Anas, this month-long project involves two phases: a two-week closure of ramps heading toward the sea, followed by a three-week period involving ramps heading toward the mountains and work on the main highway stretch. Mayor Giuliana Giampaoli noted that while these repairs are necessary for the high-traffic junction, the current infrastructure remains inadequate for the region’s needs.
