Overview
In July 2026 the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV) announced two new research programmes under its Dynamic Planet 2026‑2029 plan. The first, VT‑CLAIM, aims to build a data‑backbone and AI engine that integrate satellite, field and model observations to explore causal links between climate change, volcanic activity and tectonic processes in regions such as Iceland, the Mediterranean and polar areas.
