Intercultural and diversity festivals in Germany

Overview

Various intercultural and diversity festivals are being held across Germany to promote social cohesion, integration, and dialogue.

In Memmingen, the ‘3rd Week of Diversity’ is scheduled from late September through early October 2026. The program includes cultural and musical events, such as a photo exhibition titled ‘From Guest Worker to German Citizen’ and a musical peace prayer, intended to encourage engagement with diverse perspectives.

Simultaneously, larger-scale initiatives are underway in other regions. Dresden is hosting the 36th Intercultural Days under the theme ‘Many Languages. One Home.’, featuring hundreds of events and musical performances. In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Intercultural Week is operating under the motto ‘dafür!’ (for it!), utilizing workshops and lectures to reduce prejudice and strengthen democratic coexistence.
