In late July 2026, French customs officials uncovered two large cocaine shipments hidden in freight trucks. On 17 July, a Spanish‑registered truck at a rest area in Côte‑d’Or was found with 165 kg of cocaine concealed in a modified air‑conditioning compartment; the driver was detained. A week later, near Perpignan, a Croatian‑driven truck carrying textile pallets contained an additional 33 kg of cocaine, leading to a prison sentence and a multimillion‑euro fine for the driver.

The following day, Colombian police seized substantial marijuana consignments. A high‑speed chase on the Mediacanoa–La Virginia road resulted in a crash that revealed 581 kg of marijuana wrapped in black vinyl, allegedly sourced from Corinto and bound for Medellín. In a separate operation, routine inspections of courier packages intercepted about 40 kg of marijuana destined for Valledupar. Both seizures were handed over to authorities for further investigation.
