Invest in Szczecin Open tennis tournament progress

The Invest in Szczecin Open tennis tournament began with the distribution of qualifying wild cards to several young players, including Pavlos Tsitsipas, Jan Chłodnicki, Oliwier Sterniczuk, and Filip Pieczonka.

Polish player Filip Pieczonka has seen significant success in both categories. In doubles, Pieczonka and partner Piotr Matuszewski, the second-seeded duo, advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Victor Cornea and Jarno Jans with a score of 6:4, 6:4. Other Polish doubles teams, such as those featuring Kacper Knitter, Oliwier Sterniczuk, Szymon Walków, Szymon Kielan, and the pair of Jan Chłodnicki and Petros Tsitsipas, were eliminated from the tournament.

In the singles competition, Pieczonka utilized his wildcard to advance through the qualifying rounds and the main draw. Following victories against Carlos Sanchez Jover, Nikita Mashtakov, and a three-set match against Tiago Pereira (5:7, 6:4, 7:5), he continues his progression. While Pieczonka previously expressed a commitment to prioritizing his singles career for the next two years to achieve professional stability, he has since stated his intention to continue competing in both singles and doubles, aiming to reach the top 450 in the singles rankings by 2028.
