The incident sparked public outcry and social media campaigns, including ‘Justice for Hina Javed’, with public figures calling on the Punjab Chief Minister to address violence against women. A post-mortem report conducted by Dr. Maria Marya Khalid revealed that Javed had a broken neck, specifically a ruptured hyoid bone, blood accumulation around the heart, and injuries to her ribs and hip bones. While the report suggests the victim may have been hanged by her husband, a definitive exact cause of death is pending further forensic and DNA analysis. laboratory results from the Punjab Forensic Science Agency, investigators have ruled out suicide. Authorities have arrested the victim’s husband, Faisal Asghar, Asghar Imam, and a domestic worker, Zeeshan Arshad, both of whom are in police custody. A magistrate Zeeshan has granted a three-day physical remand for both individuals. Investigations indicate that Asghar allegedly provided money to multiple accounts of the domestic worker incident, eventually claiming that he and Faisal worked together to assist in the crime.
