Investigation into Hina Javed death in Rawalpindi

Police in Rawalpindi are investigating the death of 45-year-old Hina Javed, who was found in her apartment with her hands tied and a wire wrapped around her neck. Her family alleges she suffered repeated physical and psychological abuse during her nine-month marriage. While the victim’s in-laws initially suggested a robbery, security guards reported no signs of a break-in.

A post-mortem report conducted by Dr. Marya Khalid revealed that Javed had a broken neck, specifically a ruptured hyoid bone, blood accumulation around the heart, and injuries to her ribs and hip bones. While the exact cause of death is pending forensic laboratory results from the Punjab Forensic Science Agency, investigators have ruled out suicide.

Authorities have arrested the victim’s husband, Faisal Asghar Imam, and a domestic worker, Zeeshan Arshad, both of whom are in police custody. Zeeshan has provided multiple accounts of the incident, eventually claiming that he and Faisal worked together to strangle Hina during a quarrel. Investigators noted that the physical state of the body suggested assistance was required to position it.

A murder case has been registered at the Civil Lines Police Station. Investigators are also looking into the potential involvement of Faisal’s father, Asghar Ali Fayyaz, who initially reported the incident as a robbery.
