Investigation of former Slovak MP Dominik Drdul

Overview

Former Slovak National Council MP Dominik Drdul is facing scrutiny following allegations of engaging in sexualized electronic communication with online profiles posing as minors as young as 13. The behavior was initially uncovered by a Czech “predator hunter” who identified the exchanges as “classic predatory” behavior.

While Drdul initially denied wrongdoing, claiming he was unaware of the true ages of the interlocutors and citing a right to privacy, the situation escalated into a formal legal matter. The Trnava Criminal Police have launched a criminal investigation into Drdul for the attempted production of child pornography and the attempted endangerment of the moral upbringing of youth.

Slovak Prosecutor General Maroš Žilinka confirmed that the prosecution is acting ex officio. Political leaders, including Igor Matovič of Hnutie Slovensko, have distanced themselves from the former MP, noting that Drdul has not been a party member for several years.
