Military engagements between the United States and Iran have highlighted logistical vulnerabilities for U.S. forces, including deficiencies in precision-guided munitions, interceptor missile reserves, and preparedness for low-cost drone attacks. Reports also indicate inadequate planning for potential disruptions to oil transport and chemical fertilizer supplies.

Regarding specific strikes in Qatar, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei claimed that a document filed by Qatar with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) confirms Iranian strikes were directed exclusively at U.S. military facilities rather than civilian areas. Baghaei noted one exception: a March 18, 2026, strike on gas facilities at Ras Laffan, which he argued were supporting U.S. military aggression against Iran.

That specific strike reportedly reduced Qatar’s LNG export capacity by nearly 17% for a period of three to five years. While the ITU document assessed the current security risk to Qatar as low, Qatari authorities have previously characterized the attacks as violations of sovereignty that impacted civilian infrastructure, including an airport and energy facilities.
