Iranian Government Week commemorations

During Government Week in Iran, military and government leaders engaged in commemorative activities. The Armed Forces General Staff and the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters issued a joint statement honoring fallen leaders, including Mohammad-Ali Rajai, Mohammad-Javad Bahonar, and former President Ebrahim Raisi. The military leadership praised the government’s management during recent periods of conflict and emphasized that the synergy between the government and armed forces is a key factor in the country’s deterrence capabilities. The military reaffirmed its commitment to protecting Iran’s territorial integrity and political authority using domestic capabilities and modern military knowledge.

In conjunction with these commemorations, high-ranking officials visited the families of deceased individuals recognized as martyrs. Mohammad Eslami, Vice President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, met with the family of nuclear scientist Fereydoun Abbasi, praising his role in advancing technological independence. In Khuzestan, Shina Ansari, Vice President and Head of the Department of Environment, met with the family of Hadi Ostad, a Basij cultural and artistic deputy killed while assisting the wounded.

Tahereh Tabari, head of the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs for Tehran Province, further marked the week by describing the lives of Rajai and Bahonar as models of service. Tabari called on government officials to view their positions as a responsibility and a trust, urging public servants to honor the legacy of martyrs through dedicated community service and national unity to counter external threats.
