Irish Gardaí drug enforcement operations

Overview

Under the national anti-drug strategy known as Operation Tara, Irish Gardaí have conducted several successful raids targeting organized crime and drug trafficking.

In Limerick, authorities seized an automatic 9mm Glock pistol, ammunition, and suspected heroin valued at approximately €21,700 during a residential raid. One individual was arrested in connection with the operation.

Subsequent operations in Roscommon and Galway resulted in the seizure of drugs valued at €333,000 within a 24-hour period. This included €233,000 worth of suspected cannabis in Galway and €100,000 worth of suspected cocaine in Roscommon and Leitrim. These operations led to the arrest of multiple individuals, including two men in Galway and a man and a woman in the Roscommon and Leitrim area.
