Israel-Hamas conflict and related financial investigations

Overview

Israeli military and security forces have targeted the financial infrastructure of Hamas in Gaza. The Israel Defense Forces and Shin Bet reported the elimination of 16 key figures within a Hamas financial network that allegedly managed over one billion dollars through money laundering and transfer systems involving entities in Gaza and Turkey. This network was reportedly used to fund military activities, weapons development, and infrastructure reconstruction.

In a separate domestic investigation related to the conflict, Israeli police and military authorities arrested 21 individuals, including military officers and civilian contractors. The group is suspected of a multimillion-shekel fraud and bribery scheme involving the exploitation of state funds allocated for engineering and construction work in the Gaza Strip. The investigation alleges the manipulation of invoices and fuel usage for services that were never fully performed.
