Israeli security operations in Gaza and Samaria

Overview

Following a series of attacks that killed two IDF soldiers and resulted in a weapon seizure near Hebron, the Israel Defense Forces banned Palestinian laborers from entering Jewish communities in the Judea and Samaria region. In response to the violence, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz announced measures including the demolition of attackers’ homes, increased military deployments, and the revocation of work permits.

Subsequent security operations involved the demolition of unauthorized Israeli outposts in Samaria near Qusra and Jalud, alongside the seizure of equipment. To enhance operational control, the Golani Brigade’s 51st Battalion was deployed to the Samaria division for defensive patrols. Meanwhile, in the Gaza Strip, Israeli soldiers reported instances of high defensive readiness following the identification of unusual activity that suggested potential breaches of the ‘yellow line’.
