Istanbul is scheduled to host the Istanbul Global E-Export Summit (IGEXX 2026) from September 3–5 at the Haliç Congress Center. Initial reports indicated that more than 40 global e-commerce platforms, representing a combined trade volume of $6.1 trillion, would participate. These include major entities such as Amazon, Alibaba, Walmart Marketplace, eBay, TikTok Shop, SHEIN, Tmall, and JD.com. The event seeks to diversify markets beyond the European Union, specifically targeting high-potential opportunities in Asian markets like China, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Hasan Önal, Head of the E-Export, Digital Marketing, and New Generation Technologies Department at the Ministry of Trade, noted during a promotional meeting that global e-commerce platforms, volume is expected to reach $7 trillion by 2026. The participating marketplaces represent approximately $2.75 trillion in global trade. The summit is designed to support the digital transformation of Turkish companies and facilitate expansion through a ‘global localization’ model, with the ultimate goal of increasing Turkey’s e-export share to 10 percent.
