Italian 2026 motorsport season: karting, GT & rally updates
Entities: ACI Karting · Sant’Egidio kartodrome · Emanuele Zonzini · Mikhail Simonov · Pedro Lima
Overview
In late July the Italian 2026 motorsport programme kept its strong momentum. The fourth round of the ACI Karting Italian Championship returned to Val Vibrata, again attracting more than 290 drivers from 48 nations, with Davide Forè on pole in KZ2 and fierce battles across OK‑N and MINI classes.
At Mugello the Italian GT Sprint Championship delivered another decisive weekend. Antonelli Motorsport’s Emanuel Colombini and Emanuele Zonzini claimed a class victory in Race 1, marking the team’s second win of the season, while earlier BMW Italia‑Ceccato Racing’s Jens Klingmann and Ugo De Wilde retained the series lead. The GT Cup, GT4 Italy and Pro‑Am points tallies remained as reported, and the rain‑affected TCR Italy round continued with a safety‑car start and a win for Mikhail Simonov in a Cupra.
The F4 Italian Championship finale saw 16‑year‑old Pedro Lima once more surge through the field in wet conditions, underscoring the series’ competitive depth.
Simultaneously, Sant’Egidio alla Vibrata hosted the fourth karting round, where intermittent rain forced strategic tyre changes and highlighted the venue’s economic importance for the Teramo province.
The historic “La Grande Corsa” rally stayed on the calendar for 12‑13 September in Castelnuovo Don Bosco, featuring a Saturday prologue dedicated to Bruno Baron. The Imola Carrera event again recorded a record 300 entries, confirming robust enthusiasm for Italian motorsport across karting, GT, touring‑car and rally disciplines.
