Two days later, the local civic list Lavoro&Ambiente accused the national government of stalling the development of Piombino’s port and keeping an LNG rigassifier in place until an alternative mooring could be found, warning that the delay might jeopardise offshore‑wind projects. The report also noted a series of unrelated coastal measures in other Italian towns – calls to electrify Salerno’s quays, bans on beach access in Bagnoli after microbiological tests, scooter restrictions in Cirò Marina, traffic‑policy reversals in Napoli, and vendor crackdowns in Lacco Ameno – illustrating a broader pattern of municipal environmental enforcement and infrastructure disputes along Italy’s coast.
