Italian cultural festivals

In August 2026 Italy hosted two notable cultural festivals. The Ariano International Film Festival (AIFF) in Ariano Irpino concluded its 14th edition with a series of events, including the presentation of Emanuela Tittocchia’s autobiography, a magic performance, a physics‑and‑film lecture, a masterclass with actor Raffaello De Gruttola, and the awarding of the Hirpus d’Oro prize to Lino Banfi. The festival also featured a photography contest, a Star Wars cosplay gathering, and a seminar linking mathematics and cinema.

Meanwhile, the Libr’Aria literary festival in Albinea, Emilia‑Romagna, marked its 18th anniversary with a three‑day open‑air program. Organized by the municipality and the Pablo Neruda library, the event offered readings, author talks, illustration workshops, creative labs, and evening performances. Highlights included a presentation by French illustrator Charles Dutertre, a launch by editor Minibombo, and a science‑focused lab led by Luca Malagoli.

Both festivals underscored the vibrancy of regional cultural life in Italy, drawing participants and audiences from across the country and showcasing a blend of artistic, educational, and entertainment activities.
