The Italian government and regional authorities have implemented financial aid measures to support the fishing and aquaculture sectors facing various economic pressures. In early August 2026, the Italian Council of Ministers approved €3 million in refinancing for the National Solidarity Fund. This initiative covers costs incurred between February 28 and December 31, 2026. Compensation is capped at a maximum of €80,000 per fishing vessel and €360,000 per aquaculture enterprise, with reimbursements subject to available resources.
